Forward Deployed Engineering (Data and Platforms) Training Programme
Permanent role | £64,000 pro-rated from day one | 8 weeks of salaried training upfront | UK-based customer projects post-training
The opportunity
As organisations accelerate their investment in AI, they need engineers who can bridge business and technology; shaping solutions, designing modern data platforms and helping turn AI investment into real business value.
Our Forward Deployed Engineering (Data and Platforms) training programme is designed to help experienced Data Engineers and Full Stack Engineers evolve into exactly that. You'll begin with eight weeks of dedicated, salaried training - developing the capabilities to work across the full value chain, from understanding business problems and shaping solutions through to engineering production-ready data platforms that enable AI.
Once trained, you'll partner with leading UK-based customers across industries as a Forward Deployed Data and Platforms Engineering Consultant, solving complex business and technical challenges while staying hands on with technology and taking greater ownership of architecture and business outcomes.
It’s an opportunity to stay close to the technology you love while broadening your influence, accelerating your development and building the skills to thrive as engineering evolves in an AI-first world.
About Kubrick
Kubrick is an award-winning consultancy that helps organisations across a wide range of industries design, build and scale data and AI solutions that deliver lasting impact, in partnership with leading technology firms such as Microsoft, Databricks, Snowflake, and Collibra.
Developing exceptional data and AI talent is also at the heart of what we do. For the past 10 years, we've combined award-winning training with real world experience to help over 3000 individuals develop the skills and capabilities organisations desperately need as technology evolves.
What you’ll be doing
Operating at the intersection of engineering, business and delivery, you'll work directly with UK-based customers to turn complex business and data challenges into production ready solutions. You'll help define problems, identify where data and AI can create measurable impact, and shape end to end solution and architecture decisions.
From there, you'll bring those solutions to life by designing and building modern data platforms and production grade systems across data architecture, platform modernisation, data quality and governance, AI ready infrastructure, and the integration of fragmented enterprise systems.
Throughout the design and delivery, you'll stay close to customers, ensuring the systems you build are scalable, reliable and connected to real business outcomes. You'll also have opportunities to create reusable solutions that can deliver value across multiple customer environments.
What we’re looking for
This role is ideal for experienced Data Engineers or Full Stack Engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems but also want to work more closely with customers, influence solution design and see the real-world impact of the systems they build.

Commercial experience designing, building or maintaining production data pipelines.

Strong understanding of ETL and ELT, relational databases and data modelling.
Experience using Git in collaborative software engineering teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients and stakeholders.
Right to work in the UK post-training without requiring visa support from Kubrick.
